Day 1: Arrival in Zhangjiajie – Settle In at Wulingyuan

Accommodation: Crowne Plaza Wulingyuan / Pullman Zhangjiajie / Harmona Resort / Qinghe Jinjiang
After arrival, check in at Wulingyuan. Enjoy dinner at Xibu Street, where you can taste local dishes such as Sanxiaoguo and wild mushroom chicken soup. Take the evening to relax and adjust before starting your adventure tomorrow. Xibu Street is lively at night, perfect for snacks and a first taste of Zhangjiajie nightlife.

Day 2: Yuanjiajie → Yangjiajie → Tianzi Mountain

Morning: Enter the Wulingyuan Scenic Area via the main entrance and take the eco-bus to the Bailong Elevator. Ride the world-famous Bailong Elevator straight up the cliff to Yuanjiajie. Explore top highlights including Misthic Platform, Avatar Hallelujah Mountain (Qiankun Column), and the First Bridge Under Heaven. This area is the filming inspiration for Avatar and known worldwide for its towering sandstone pillars.

Afternoon: Continue by eco-bus to Yangjiajie. Visit the Natural Great Wall viewpoint (minimal walking, excellent panoramas). If time and energy permit, challenge yourself with One Step to Heaven and Sky Corridor (around 2 hours round trip, steeper terrain but rewarding views). Then proceed to Tianzi Mountain.

Evening: Visit Helong Park, Imperial Brush Peaks, and Fairy Presenting Flowers. Descend by Tianzi Mountain Cable Car and return to the entrance by eco-bus.

Hotel:Wulingyuan (same options as Day 1)

Insider Tip: Walk slightly away from the main viewing decks—you’ll often find peaceful, crowd-free angles for photography.

Day 3: Golden Whip Stream → Huangshi Village

Morning: Enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and begin the 7.5-km Golden Whip Stream hike (2.5–3 hours). This flat, scenic canyon trail is surrounded by dramatic peaks, crystal-clear water, and rich wildlife. Key sights include Golden Whip Rock, Meeting-from-a-Thousand-Miles, and Eagle Protecting Whip.

Afternoon: Take an eco-bus to the Huangshi Village Cableway and ride to the mountaintop. “He who does not visit Huangshi Village has not truly been to Zhangjiajie.” Follow the loop trail to major viewpoints like Six Wonders Pavilion and Star-Picking Terrace for breathtaking 360° landscapes.

Evening: Take the cableway down and transfer to Zhangjiajie downtown for hotel check-in.
Accommodation: Sunshine Hotel / International Hotel / Western Grand Hotel

Insider Tip: Golden Whip Stream is the best place to encounter wild macaques. Do NOT feed or provoke them. Huangshi Village is a fantastic sunset location—arrive early if weather is stable.

Day 4: Tianmen Mountain – Glass Skywalk & Heaven’s Gate

Spend a full day exploring Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park. Make sure to pre-book Line A or B.
Recommended (Line A): Take the world-record 7.5-km cableway from the city center up to the summit. Follow the west route to experience the Glass Skywalk, Ghost-Valley Plank Road, and Tianmen Mountain Temple. Continue by summit cable car (extra ticket) or walk to Yunmeng Fairy Peak. Choose the east route or escalators through the mountain to reach Tianmen Cave (Heaven’s Gate). Descend the 999-step staircase or take the paid escalator. Return via the eco-bus down the exhilarating 99-Bend Road.

Accommodation: Zhangjiajie downtown

Insider Tip: Weather changes quickly at the summit—bring a jacket. Guests with fear of heights may skip the Glass Skywalk.

Day 5: Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon & World-Famous Glass Bridge

Morning to Afternoon: Travel to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Start with the record-breaking Glass Bridge, an unforgettable “walk in the clouds” experience. Continue along the cliffside path down into the canyon. Optional activities include zip-line or slideway. At the canyon floor, enjoy a peaceful stream hike and finish with an included boat ride out of the scenic area.

Accommodation: Wulingyuan (same options as earlier)

Insider Tip: The canyon floor offers a completely different perspective—lush, serene, and full of waterfalls.

Day 6: Baofeng Lake Cruise → Laowuchang (Hidden Non-Developed Scenic Area)

Morning: Enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Baofeng Lake, known as the “Fairyland on Earth.” Listen to traditional Tujia singing performed from the cliffs and admire huge waterfalls and emerald-green waters.

Afternoon: Head to Laowuchang, a hidden gem not officially developed for tourism. Access requires hiring a local driver from the Tianzi Mountain entrance area. Key highlights include the Sky Farmland—terraced fields perched on cliff tops—and the spectacular God Soldiers Gathering, a dense array of peaks more impressive than even the Bailong Elevator views.

Evening: Return to Wulingyuan for a hearty farewell dinner.
Accommodation: Wulingyuan

Insider Tip: Laowuchang is a dream for photographers—expect raw, untouched scenery with minimal crowds. Roads are rural; safety first.

Day 7: Ten-Mile Gallery → Departure

Morning: After a relaxed start, enter the park through the main entrance and take the eco-bus to the Ten-Mile Gallery. Ride the sightseeing tram (or walk) to enjoy iconic formations such as the Elder Gathering Herbs and Three Sisters Peaks.

Afternoon: Shop for local specialties like wild fungus and kudzu powder in Wulingyuan town. Transfer to the airport or train station and conclude your unforgettable Zhangjiajie journey.
